Developed and published by CD Projekt Red, Cyberbunk 2077 is a first-person open-world shooter set in the near future. Players assume the role of a mercenary known as V, with customization options ranging from eyebrows to hair color.
But soon after its launch, those who had been waiting for the game for years to release were disappointed when they learned that the game was full of technical issues.
While players have recently complained about their PS4 save data being corrupted and some not being able to loot drones, the title is still plagued with numerous bugs and issues.
And as if that wasn’t disturbing enough, Cyberpunk 2077 players are now complaining (1,2,3,4,5) of FPS drops and stutters. Reports suggest that the problem appeared after the recent 1.5 update.
Gamers say the FPS drops are so severe that they are unable to game at all. Some said they tried updating the graphics drivers and reinstalling the game, but to no avail.
Below are some reports of Cyberpunk 2077 players experiencing FPS drops and stutters.
Hi, I’ve been playing cyberpunk for about 2 days and today my game started to be slow, it’s not even 10fps, everywhere even in the menu or at the start of launching the game. I tried changing the graphics settings or the solution, but I don’t think that’s the problem because it was set to high graphics from the start and it was smooth even in the center of town. All other games run normally, as does my laptop in general + my charger is plugged in all the time.
I recently discovered cyberpunk when patch 1.5 was released, but noticed something strange, which I can’t find anywhere else. I only get about 25-35 fps, whatever setting I’m on, I’ve tried ultra settings (25-35 fps) and then low settings (always 25-30 fps). My GPU usage peaks at around 50-60% in an intensive area. My computer specs are: CPU: Intel i5 7500 GPU: AMD Rx 6600 RAM: 16gb hyper x 3200mhz ddr4 Ram. does anyone know what could be going on?
Luckily, the Cyberpunk 2077 developers (CD Projekt Red) acknowledged the stuttering issues that appeared after the 1.5 update and stated that the issue occurs every time players open the inventory or the map.
However, they did not share an ETA on when the issue will be fixed.
Thank you for all the feedback regarding Cyberpunk 2077. We really appreciate all the messages coming in from around the world – keep getting them. Following patch 1.52, we wanted to take a moment to let you know that we are aware of the following issues reported by some players: FPS drop when opening map/inventory on PC.
We hope Cyberpunk 2077 developers will soon find out the reason why the game is stuttering and fix it in the next few days. As always, we’ll be keeping an eye out for more information and updating this space as needed, so be sure to stay tuned.
