Lacrosse drops to No. 10 Florida, 18-7.

GAINESVILLE, Florida. –Temple Lacrosse (10-5) fell to No. 10 Florida (11-4) in an American Athletic Conference battle Saturday afternoon. The loss to the Gators is the Owls’ only conference loss this season.

Game recap

  • The Gators struck first, scoring the game’s first three goals just ten minutes into the game.
  • Beautiful Mastropietro stopped the Gator momentum with his own goal, putting the owls on the board of a Mackenzie Roth help with less than three minutes left in the quarter.
  • With just 15 seconds left, Florida struck twice to take a 5-1 lead, before scoring one more in the opening minutes of the second quarter for a 6-1 game.
  • Roth worked his magic again early in the second quarter, sending the ball into Abaigeal Ryan for the Owls’ second goal.
  • Three Gator goals followed before Katie Flynn found the back of the net for the Owls with an assist from Mastropietro.
