The Love Island finalists returned to the UK today after spending two months abroad on the hit ITV show, and despite the return of Gemma Owen, her father Michael Owen was absent at the airport.
Gemma, 19, was greeted by her mother Louise and siblings upon arrival at the airport, but there was no sign of Michael.
The airport diversion is another clue that the professional footballer is not a fan of Gemma’s man, 23-year-old Luca Bish.
Meanwhile, Gemma looked emotional as she hugged her younger brother moments after landing on the runway.
The special moment was filmed by ITV – with the scenes likely to air on Love Island: The Reunion, which airs Sunday night.
The other islanders were also greeted by family members, with Tasha Ghouri’s father breaking down in tears upon seeing her.
Michael also swerved on parents’ day into the villa, and instead Gemma’s mother walked in with a friend.
This left fans on social media believing that Michael wasn’t a fan of Luca Bish, with Luca visibly disappointed when Michael didn’t make an appearance.
Gemma’s mother, Louise Bonsall, 41, and her friend Sarah flew to Mallorca to visit the dressage champion at the Love Island villa.
Gemma was clearly excited to see the pair and cried as she put her hands over her mouth.
But when the camera switched to Luca, he turned away in disgust and put his sunglasses back on.
Fans couldn’t help but notice the deep disappointment on his face when he realized he wouldn’t be meeting the champion footballer.
“Lucas face when he realized Michael Owen wasn’t coming in,” one fan commented with a laughing emoji on Twitter.
Another added: “I said the exact same thing, his face was a picture.”
At the airport, the smitten winners of this year’s series – Ekin-Su and Davide – shared a kiss as they made their way towards the crowd.
The islanders looked over the moon as they held hands and walked towards their loved ones.
The Turkish beauty, Ekin-Su, 27, and the Italian stud, also 27, have previously shared beloved snaps of the plane online.
After collecting their phones, the lovebirds took to Instagram to share their first selfie together since leaving the villa.
The couple looked happier than ever as they flashed big smiles and settled in together.
