The sand man The trailer shows Dream returning from captivity to reclaim his rightful throne as King of Dreams.
The trailer begins with Dream (Tom Sturridge) wearing his infamous helmet and handling a sandstorm before moving on to Johanna Constantine (Jenna Coleman) on the street being questioned about Dream’s legitimacy. She passes it off as a “fairy tale”, but this is quickly refuted as we are shown Dream breaking out of her prison and easily disposing of a guard whose bullets are rendered ineffective.
Dream transports himself to his huge castle, where his trusted ally Lucien (Vivienne Acheampong) tells him his kingdom has fallen into a state of disrepair and he must retrieve his power totems to regain his full strength. The magic items include a sandbag, a ruby, and the bar, and to retrieve them he will encounter a cast of characters including the Infinite, his family, and the other incarnations of natural forces.
One scene shows Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) in a gothic look walking through a field, Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie) with his devilishly playful personality, Desire (Mason Alexander) pleasantly admiring their reflection in the mirror, and Doctor Destiny (David Thewlis) staring at the ruby in her hand.
The fan-favorite Corinthian (Boyd Holbrook) was seen near the end of the trailer in a truly nefarious form. He is the nightmare created by Dream who has become an influential serial killer, and the scene shows him realizing that Dream has come out of his cage, hinting at their inevitable confrontation.
by Neil Gaiman The sand man is a critically acclaimed graphic novel, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the upcoming adaptation on Netflix, but news about it has been thin. Luckily, fans now have an August 5 release date, which should make the wait easier.
