New Multiverse of Madness Sequence Drops Major X-Men ’97 Reference

New promo footage for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has dropped a major X-Men ’97 reference that raised audiences’ eyebrows.

After Spider-Man: No Coming Home, it didn’t seem possible that Marvel could outdo themselves with a film featuring more surprise cameos than those seen in the Spider-Man movie. However, this is Marvel we’re talking about.

The studio is ready to open up the multiverse in its next release Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a film that is expected to feature appearances from some of Marvel’s biggest characters.

From alternate versions of beloved characters previously introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to new characters not yet seen in the MCU, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness promises to be one of Marvel’s craziest and greatest movies yet! There have been countless theories about who could return for the film, including longtime leader of the X-Men, Professor Charles Xavier.

While the role of Professor X was first teased in the Multiverse of Madness Super Bowl spot, a new teaser for the movie seems to suggest we’re about to meet a very different version of the character previously introduced on FOX x-men universe. The one whose inspiration seems to draw heavily on the emblematic x-men ’97 animated series!

Multiverse of Madness Images Tease X-Men ’97’s Professor X

In a new teaser released by Marvel Studios Canada’s YouTube channel, which has since been removed, viewers get a clearer look at Patrick Stewart’s return as Professor X and the version we’ll meet in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness take it seriously x-men Atmosphere 97!

During the brief teaser, we are treated to a clear photo of Professor X’s signature yellow hoverchair which the character used in the beloved 90s animated series and numerous comic book adaptations. Not only does Stewart’s Professor X use the signature hoverchair, but he also appears to be donning a green-colored jacket, we’ve seen the character swinging around a lot in the animated series.

Although it is unlikely that the character featured in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shares a connection with the character from the animated series, the similarities in the two looks are quite exciting and have created even more anticipation for her arrival in the MCU!
