TOWIE’s Frankie Essex has £35 worth of vitamin shots to beat baby fatigue

Coffee isn’t always enough for parents struggling with sleepless nights, as Frankie Essex and her boyfriend Luke Luv have discovered.

The new parents of newborn twins took vitamin B12 by injection to combat their baby’s fatigue.

The £35 Hollywood hack, regularly used by stars such as Hailey Bieber and Rihanna, is administered by a clinician via an injection into the body, usually in the arm or buttocks, and helps your body convert food into energy which your body needs to fight fatigue.

Frankie, 34, and Luke, 32, said the measure was necessary after they suffered severe sleep deprivation following the birth of their non-identical twins on May 24.

“They feed every three hours,” Frankie said, explaining her reasoning for having the injection. “We found the fatigue very difficult. People tell you: “Sleep when you can”, but it’s impossible, especially with two people. We sleep for 90 minutes at a time, max. I feel more alive this week.

Although the injections may seem extreme, they are recommended for anyone suffering from fatigue, lethargy, fainting, and shortness of breath due to the reduced amount of oxygen in the blood. A lack of vitamin B12 is a common cause of anemia, but many celebrities use them to lift their spirits.

Kelly Brook is also a fan of the treatment, saying, “Vitamin B12 injected into the butt does the job! They make you feel amazing – you go from a little groggy to ‘ding!’ It probably doesn’t make that much sense though…’

Victoria Beckham also said how much she relied on the supplement during each of her pregnancies, while Chelsea Handler claimed the vitamin’s aphrodisiac qualities, tweeting: “Guess who gets the b12 shot to get excited?”

They join other stars including Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber who are also injecting the punches, according to reports.

Frankie and Luke welcomed their double bundle of joy on May 24 and have been in a bubble of love ever since. Revealing their gorgeous names and birth weights to OK! for the first time, Frankie said, “Our son’s name is Logan and he weighs 5lbs 4oz, and our daughter’s name is Luella and he weighs 4lbs 8oz.

“Luella has always been my maiden name since I was 20 – I never told anyone the name in case they stole it from me. Luke chose the name Logan because he likes it. [X-Men] Wolverine character, whose name is Logan. They both mean warrior, but we only recently discovered that.
